Live by the blog, die by the blog.
The Democrats celebrating a 6 point loss in Kansas is about the most Democrat thing the Democrats could possibly do. “Hey, we lost but it wasn’t a complete and total asskicking! VICTORY!!”
It’s absurd that Democrats don’t seriously compete in these races. It’s absurd that Democrats don’t seek to grow their voter base, especially in heavily-Republican areas. It’s absurd that in a special election, when there are literally like no other races happening, the Democrats aren’t pouring resources in trying to win any type of victory. Nope, another loss.
But this loss wasn’t that bad! Great. If this were a victory, it would only be minor. The fact that it’s still a loss makes it almost completely pointless. Yes, it’s a good sign that the Democrat didn’t lose by 30 points. But he still lost.
There are no moral victories in politics. Democrats need to get ruthless and fight and claw for literally every seat in Congress. The fact that the minority party is willing to pass on any contested seat is a sign that they don’t know know what the fuck they’re doing.
It’s fascinating how quickly the media, and the general public, gets behind a war. Even the most ardent Trump critics are all like, “Well, that sure is a presidential act.” Bombing stuff is so baked into the office that we just assume our president will do it. There’s no critical thought about why we’re doing it or what it might cost in terms of casualties or dollars, we just do it.
Of course, Republicans will immediately say, “Well, Obama did it.” And sadly, they aren’t wrong. Obama bombed the fuck out of some people. No one batted an eye.
The difference is that Obama wasn’t a fucking psychotic megalomaniac with no attention span. If Trump’s poll numbers go up because of this bombing, then everybody get in the fucking bunkers. Oh well, it’s just literally life and death.
There’s no money for health care but there’s ALWAYS money for war. And our country HATES socialism except when we’re pumping money into jobs in the defense industry. Imagine if we spent that money on infrastructure, education, or literally anything else. But there I go again, being all pinko and crazy. Time to build more fighter jets for the inevitable dogfights with terrorist groups who don’t have an air force. But they sure do look cool for flyovers at sporting events!!
Tonight we bombed Syria. All of us did that, even though most of us didn’t vote for this asshole. But here we are, bombing yet another country on the other side of the world.
The difference, of course, is that Syria is an utter clusterfuck. I wish Obama had done something about Assad sooner, but what is there to do? If he’s out, then who steps in? We’ve got ISIS, Al Qaeda, and mixtures of those groups or other groups we’ve never heard of who may be just as bad. There is no good option. And our president just escalated our involvement.
This isn’t good, but it’s made even worse because this was decided in, what, a day? It’s not like this was carefully considered. It was done on a whim. That’s because our president still doesn’t understand what he’s doing or the ramifications his actions have. But he’s about to learn, because this could very well turn into a huge mess.
God help those poor people in Syria, because they are trapped. Maybe we could help them?… oh, wait, no, no we can’t because our president and his supporters are callous assholes.
What the world needs now, more than anything, are think pieces written by anonymous authors. Finally, I am here to step into that void. You’re welcome, America.
The idea of this blog is that Trump is an incurious idiot who knows nothing about the world. I will write that as someone who is a curious idiot, far way from Washington. I have no inside knowledge or insight; I’m just some asshole who spends way too much time online. I intend to change the world one shitpost at a time.
Also, I never proofread, so if you love easily-found spelling and grammar mistakes, then I promise that this is the blog for you.
